7 Ladies Have arrived!!
Growing up in southwestern Wyoming, the ranching lifestyle is pretty deeply implanted into my genes. When it comes to my work I can't help being influenced by it.
Before computor enhancement and photo restoration I learned the Fine Arts method of the same from Jackie Goodyear, a teacher with a lifetime of work in this field. Jackie also taught us to paint alla prima also known as painting from life!
This series is the result of my work correcting photos and the great fun of seeing black & white & broken photos come to life!
I just had to do these wonderful folks from RODEO! Except for any custom orders that get, I no longer use this method in my painting. I did this series, including the two additional ones to come, to bring a new lively look at some old standards so it could help to keep the early rodeo contestants alive for future generations. Yakima Canutt & the Seven Ladies are the final in this series.

"Nevada's Mystery Horse"

What is a Curly Horse?
Breeder here is a tool for you when folks ask you that question!!!!
“Nevada’s Mystery Horse” written by Carol L Erickson gives you a very valuable tool to sell your horses! Written with historical documentation in their own words from Peter J. Damele of “Dry Creek and Ackerman Ranches”; excerpts from personal interviews with Mr. Joe Mead; and information garnered from Mr. Norman Dills; as well as the first hand observations of the author from visits to the Damele ranches, input from Glen Kugler’s friends.
Peter J. gives a detailed account from the first sightings in 1932, through his grandfather, father, and uncle Benny, Bernard, incorporating these horses into their ramuda and their breeding of the horse with curly hair.
The final loving gift to the horse world from Sunny Martin told in her words from taped interviews. From her first introduction to “Curly Q”; the search to find where this animal comes from (a search that is still in progress); through the formation of the “ABC” registry; and her grief at loosing her beloved stallion coupled with her joy at knowing that the horses were saved and in good hands with the Damele Family.
